§ Mr. Carter-Jonesasked the Secretary of State for Social Services what estimate his Department has made of the costs of implementing the recommendations of the Select Committee's report on perinatal and neonatal mortality.
§ Dr. VaughanWe are examining the cost of the Committee's recommendations as part of our consideration of the report as a whole, and will present a full reply to Parliament as soon as possible.
§ Mr. Carter-Jonesasked the Secretary of State for Social Services (1) if he will have discussions with the Royal College of Midwives concerning recommendations numbers 67 to 78 of the Select Committee's report on perinatal and neonatal mortality prior to producing the Government's White Paper in the autumn;
(2) if his Department will have discussions with the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists about the recommendations of the Select Committee's report on perinatal and neonatal 260W mortality prior to producing the Government's White Paper in the autumn.
§ Dr. VaughanWe have received representations about the report from the two Royal Colleges and will wish to discuss a number of its recommendations with them in more detail after we have presented our reply to Parliament.
