HC Deb 28 October 1980 vol 991 cc258-9W
26. Mr. Arthur Lewis

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services why it took him until 21 August to reply to the letter of 23 July from the hon. Member for Newham, North-West dealing with matters connected with the British Homoeopathic Association; what was contained in this letter which could not have been sent earlier; why this reply dated 21 August was not posted until 26 August and whether he will improve the speed of replies to his correspondents in future.

Sir George Young

I regret the delay in letting the hon. Member have my reply to his letter of 23 July. I can assure him that every effort is made to deal with Members' correspondence as quickly as possible.
