asked the Secretary of State for Trade what was the United Kingdom balance of trade in manufactured goods with the original European Economic Community six countries in 1970, 1979 and the current year to date at an annual rate; and what was the United Kingdom balance with the rest of the world in the same goods in the same years.

Mr. Eyre:

The United Kingdom crude balances of trade in manufactured goods with the original European Community countries in the years 1970, 1979 and in the first nine months of 1980 at an annual rate were, respectively, +£162 million, —£3,836 million and —£3,112 million. The corresponding figures for our trade with the rest of the world were +£2,073 million, +£5,489 million and +£5,906 million.
