asked the Lord Privy Seal if he will make a statement on the latest position on Government aid to Tanzania.

Mr. Neil Marten:

Our aid programme for Tanzania remains substantial: total expenditure in 1979–80 was nearly £23 million. Its operation will continue to be governed by the aid policies which I announced on 20 February 1980.—[Vol. 978, c. 464.]
