HC Deb 27 October 1980 vol 991 c190W
Mr. Carter-Jones

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what developments have taken place regarding the provision of prostheses following discussions with the British Limbless Ex-Servicemen's Association; and if he will make a statement;

Mr. Prentice:

Following my reply to the hon. Member on 3 June, I subsequently agreed with the British Limbless Ex-Servicemen's Association that the best way forward was a series of meetings to discuss all aspects of the limb service.

The holiday period prevented an early start but I am pleased to say the first meeting between representatives of the Department, the industry and the association will take place on 4 November. I know all concerned have high hopes that this opportunity for a close examination of the way in which the limb service operates will lead to improvements—[Vol. 985, c. 616.]
