HC Deb 27 October 1980 vol 991 cc95-6W
Mr. Biggs-Davison

asked the Lord Privy Seal what new arrangements have been made at Her Majesty's Embassy in Washington, DC, for the presentation of Northern Ireland in the United States of America.

Mr. Blaker:

We are always seeking ways to improve the presentation of Government policy, including that on Northern Ireland, in the United States of America. Both my right hon. and noble Friend and my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland give the highest priority to ensuring that leaders of American opinion, and the United States public in general, are aware of our policy and of the nature of the problems confronting us. Our posts in the United States work hard to make the facts known and to rebut misleading, and often malicious, reports about developments in Northern Ireland.
