asked the Lord Privy Seal how many information officers were employed by the Foreign Office in May 1979; and how many are employed now.

Mr. Luce:

The number of officers in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office's news department was 12 in May 1979 and is still 12 now.

The information officer group in the Overseas Development Administration, including specialists in exhibitions, publications and publicity, in addition to press and public relations officers, numbered 10 in May 1979 and 9 now.
