HC Deb 27 October 1980 vol 991 cc170-1W
Mr. Gwilym Roberts

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what study he has made of the evidence supplied to him involving the admission of 22 children to hospital following the eating of berries in the Cannock area; what steps he is taking to reduce this type of problem; and if he will make a statement.

Sir George Young:

Of the 28 children who attended hospital for treatment, none was detained as an in-patient. There are already various ways in which the public are reminded of the danger of eating poisonous berries and I do not consider that action on my part is called for.
