asked the Secretary of State for Employment if he will provide a breakdown of earnings per standard industrial classification.

Mr. Dobson

asked the Secretary of State for Employment what are the latest figures for the average weekly earnings of (a) men, (b) women, (c) lone mothers, (d) lone fathers, (e) heads of two-parent families, (f) married women with dependent children and (g) married women without dependent children.

[pursuant to his reply. 9 August 1980, c. 4O2]: The latest available information on average weekly earnings is as follows:

Daventry, (e) Gloucester, (f) Grantham, (g) Guildford, (h) Eastbourne, (i) Lincoln, (j) Oswestry, (k) Reigate, (l) Scunthorpe, (m) St. Ives, (n) Stowmarket, (o) Stratford-on-Avon, (p) Wallasey, (q) Worcester, (r) Yeovil and (s) Torbay, who have never had a job; and if he will provide comparable figures in each case for 1979 and 1978;

(2) how many young persons aged 18 years and under there are in (a) Solihull and (b) Stretford who have never had a job; and if, in each case, he will provide comparable figures for 1979 and 1978;

(3) how many young persons aged 18 years and under there are in the employment areas corresponding to the areas of (a) Blaby, (b) Dover and Deal, (c) Wycombe and (d) Barnet, Finchley who have never had a job; and if, in each case, he will provide comparable figures for 1979 and 1978.

Mr. Parry

asked the Secretary of State for Employment if he will publish in the Official Report the estimated number of unemployed coloured youth under the age of 20 years in the following local authorities at the latest available date; and what percentage this represents of the total registered unemployed in each of those areas: Liverpool, Manchester, Birmingham, Sheffield, Leeds, Wolverhampton, Bradford and each of the London boroughs.

[pursuant to his reply, 8 August 1980, c. 405–6]: The precise information is not available. However, statistics are collected for those born in, or whose parents were born in, the New Commonwealth and Pakistan and these are analysed by age in February each year. The analysis identifies those under

asked the Secretary of State for Employment how many young people under 21 years of age he estimates are registered as unemployed and if he will break down the total figure to show the position in Scotland, England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

[pursuant to his reply, 8 August 1980, c. 403]: Following is the information at 10 July for those under 20 years of age. The age analysis of the

19 years of age but not those under 20.

Information is available for the whole of Greater London but not for the separate London boroughs. It is not available for Liverpool. The following table gives the available information for February 1980 for the groups of employment office areas which correspond most closely with the local authority areas specified.

unemployed does not identify those under 21.
