asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what has been the total sum allocated from public funds to the shipbuilding industry since nationalisation, divided under appropriate headings and separating Harland & Wolff from British Shipbuilders.

In addition, payments of £21 million have been made under the shipbuilding redundancy payment scheme. Interest support costs of £118 million have been paid in respect of loans advanced to United Kingdom shipowners under the shipbuilding home credit scheme.
