§ Mr. PymDuring the period 1 May 1979 to 1 November 1980, the number of United Kingdom-based civil servants employed by the Ministry of Defence—including Royal ordnance factories—was reduced by 13,152 or 5.3 per cent. There was also a reduction of 1,872 or 5.0 percent. in the number of locally engaged civilians overseas during the period 1 May 1979 to 1 October 1980, which is the latest date for which this information is available.
