§ Mr. Marlowasked the Lord Privy Seal whether it is the policy of Her Majesty's Government that the United Kingdom will in no foreseeable circumstances relinquish full sovereignty over the Falkland Islands.
§ Sir Ian GilmourThe British Government are in no doubt about the United Kingdom's sovereign rights over the Falkland Islands and the Falkland Islands dependencies. It remains our intention to seek a solution to the sovereignty dispute which is acceptable to all parties. We have made it clear that any proposals for a settlement would have to be acceptable to the islanders and would be laid before the House.
