§ Mr. Marlowasked the Prime Minister why Service personnel do not receive the same grants for their children's education as are given to Her Majesty's Diplomatic Service.
§ The Prime MinisterThe boarding school allowances paid to Service men are lower than those for members of Her Majesty's Diplomatic Service because their circumstances are different. In particular, the Service man has an 71W element of choice available through the provision of Service schools at most military stations overseas. The Service scheme of boarding school allowances is currently under review by the Armed Forces Pay Review Body.
