§ Mr. Nicholas Wintertonasked the Secretary of State for Trade what action, if any, the European Commission has taken to prevent polyester filament yarns and nylon 48W carpet yarns from the United States of America entering the United Kingdom by free circulation from other member States, in excess of the quotas recently set by his Department and the Commission.
§ Mr. Parkinson[pursuant to his reply, 24 November 1980]: None. We applied to the Commission for authority under article 115 to refuse two licence applications for nylon carpet yarn, but the Commission took the view that the sums involved were too small to justify such action.
