§ Mr. McQuarrieasked the Secretary of State for Defence what further progress is being made in the proposed new defence jobs which are to be created in Scotland arising out of the decision to set up certain sections of his Department in the West of Scotland; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. Hayhoe[pursuant to his reply, 28 October 1980, c. 254–55]: It has now been decided in principle to move the work of the Army pensions office located at Stanmore to temporary accommodation in Glasgow in 1982–83. The 33W number of jobs involved is likely to be about 100 and consultation will take place with the trade union side of the MOD Whitley Council on the planning of the move.
