HC Deb 13 November 1980 vol 992 c368W
Mr. Peter Mills

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether, when preparing his proposed nationality legislation, he will take account of the recent referendum held in Gibraltar, when the peninsula's population rejected the Spanish claims and voted to retain their link as British citizens.

Mr. Raison

I have recently received a copy of a memorandum prepared on behalf of Members of the House of Assembly and of other interests in Gibraltar and will study it carefully.
