HC Deb 13 November 1980 vol 992 c317W
Dr. John Cunningham

asked the Secretary of State for Trade what representations he has received from the Royal Yachting Association, sailing clubs and individuals about French Government proposals to require all British vessels visiting France to be registered under the Merchant Shipping Act; what replies he has sent; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Eyre

A substantial number of representations has been received about the documentation required by British pleasure craft in French waters.

We have been in touch with the French authorities on this matter and it is hoped to be able to announce the outcome shortly.
