§ Dr. Roger Thomasasked the Minister of Transport if he will make a statement as to his proposals to introduce legislation to reduce road traffic injury and mortality by tightening up drink-driving laws.
§ Mr. FowlerI shall introduce legislation as soon as practicable to improve the law by removing procedural difficulties which have hampered its operation and by introducing evidential breath testing. I shall also be taking action on hit-and-run offences and on the problem of high-risk offenders.
