HC Deb 13 November 1980 vol 992 c315W
Mr. Adley

asked the Secretary of State for Trade how many staff are employed in his Department as messengers or general assistants in reception areas; and how this number has increased or decreased in the last 12 months.

Mr. Eyre

Apart from security staff who spend a small proportion of their time on reception work, 17 messengers are engaged in escorting visitors in offices throughout the Department of Trade and two clerical staff work in an inquiry office; this is one messenger fewer than 12 months ago.
