HC Deb 13 November 1980 vol 992 cc381-2W
Mr. Foulkes

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what study he has made on the conclusions of the survey of dairy farms carried out by the West of Scotland college of agriculture showing substantial reductions in investment and other major problems in the Scottish dairy industry over the last two years; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Younger

I am informed that the West of Scotland agricultural college will be publishing within the next few weeks a report on trends in profitability in dairy farming. This is based on the results of the farm accounts survey carried out each year by the college. Detailed information from this is supplied to my Department and will be analysed to provide part of the material for the annual review of agriculture.
