§ Mr. Ernie Rossasked the Secretary of State for Scotland if, in the next financial year, he will supply more financial assistance to Tayside regional council to enable the continuation of its subsidy to provide places for those entering residential homes for the elderly in Dundee run by voluntary organisation at a reduced rate.
§ Mr. FairgrieveGovernment assistance towards local authority current expenditure is given mainly in the form of rate support grant, which is paid in aid of local revenues generally. It is for authorities to determine their expenditure priorities among individual services. My right hon. Friend has not yet reached decisions on the level and distribution of rate support grant for 1981–82.
