§ Mr. HayhoeSince the beginning of 1980 the Army force level has been reduced from 13 to 11 major units. Additional reductions have also been made in supporting elements. In total over 1,000 soldiers have been withdrawn. We have already announced that a further reduction will be made later this month when the Scots Dragoon Guards will finish their tour without replacement.
