asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he has any further plans for new or increased National Health Service charges.

Mr. Patrick Jenkin

As indicated in Cmnd. 7841, it is the Government's present policy in relation to the family practitioner services, to increase charges to keep pace with the cost of providing the services.

I have no plans to alter prescription charge exemptions.
