§ Dr. Summerskillasked the Secretary of State for Industry whether, in view of the fact that the number of unemployed in the Halifax area has risen from 2,822 in May 1979 to 6,583 in October 1980, he will restore assisted area status to Calderdale.
§ Mr. David MitchellThe unemployment position in West Yorkshire, including Calderdale is one of the factors which my right hon. Friend is taking into account in his consideration of the representations he has received recently from the West Yorkshire metropolitan county council.
