§ Mr. HurdIn the following countries, United Kingdom citizens are detained without, on the basis of our most recent information, having been charged or tried: Iran (4), Libya (4), South Africa (1).
At any one time, there are, in many countries, a number of United Kingdom nationals who are temporarily held in custody while awaiting trial or the conclusion of investigations expected to lead to trial.
