HC Deb 04 November 1980 vol 991 c553W
Mr. Carter-Jones

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will take steps to ensure that British public works and missions overseas are designed, built and equipped with British materials wherever possible; and if he will make a full statement on his Department's existing policy.

Mr. Geoffrey Finsberg

This is already the Department's policy, subject to our international obligations and the need to obtain value for money. We want to do all we can to support British industry and improve its competitiveness.
