asked the Lord Privy Seal what has been the aggregate cost to public funds to date of United Kingdom donations to the international university exchange fund; when such donations were made; and for what purpose in each case.

The total cost since 1977 is £1,365,303. Details of the purpose and timing of payments are:

(i) Special scheme to support Zimbabwe students on identifiable courses in the United Kingdom.
