HL Deb 23 May 1980 vol 409 cc1099-100WA
Lord WAKEFIELD of KENDAL

asked Her Majesty's Government:

What plans are in hand for the establishment of statutory Marine Reserves in British waters for conservation purposes comparable to those already established by the USA in that country's coastal waters.

The Lord BELLWIN

My right honourable friend the Secretary of State for the Environment is considering whether powers to designate such reserves should be included in the proposed Wildlife and Countryside Bill.
