§ Mr. Foulkesasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will give an estimate of the effects on the exchange rate of a 472W reduction in the United Kingdom contribution to the European Economic Community budget of £1,000 million.
§ Mr. Lawson[pursuant to his reply, 22 May 1980]: I would not expect a reduction in our net contribution to have any significant effect on the exchange rate for sterling.
