Mr. Weetch

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services how many patients received electroconvulsive therapy in 1978 and 1979; and what percentage of these received this treatment whilst under compulsory admission to hospital.

Member for Lewisham, West (Mr. Price) on 14 January.—[Vol. 976, c.659.] Information on the numbers of patients who received electroconvulsive therapy whilst compulsorily detained in a National Health Service psychiatric hospital is not collected centrally.
