§ Mr. David Steelasked the Secretary of State for Scotland what is the total number of registered blind and partially-sighted persons in Scotland who are (a) in employment and (b) recorded as being unemployed.
§ Mr. YoungerInformation is not available on the numbers of registered disabled blind or partially-sighted people in employment. In April 1979—the latest date for which information is available—87 blind and 297 partially sighted registered disabled people were on the unemployment register in Scotland. The results of the April 1980 analysis of unemployment among specific categories of registered disabled people are expected shortly and I shall write to the right hon. Member when they become available.
