§ Mr. Gordon Wilsonasked the Secretary of State for Scotland what is now the estimated or actual cost of the breakdown of the Hunterston B reactor in 1978 and the cost of its repair.
§ Mr. Alexander FletcherReactor 4 at Hunterston B power station, which was damaged as a result of an accidental ingress of sea water in October 1977, was brought back into operation in January. The South of Scotland Electricity Board estimates that the total cost of the necessary repairs will be of the order of £15 309W million and that the additional cost of replacing the output which was expected from that reactor amounted to some £42 million.
