HC Deb 21 May 1980 vol 985 c222W
Mr. William Hamilton

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what representations he has received from the Church of Scotland concerning proposals on pending legislation which would have a detrimental effect on the Church's provision of rehabilitative residential care for alcholics; and what was the nature of his reply.

Mrs. Chalker

I have been asked to reply.

The Church of Scotland has written to my right hon. Friend, asking for continuance of the Supplementary Benefits Commission's discretionary additional payments to certain residents of Church of Scotland hostels for alcholic rehabilitation. I am considering the terms of the reply.
