§ Mr. Alexander FletcherIn September 1978, the latest date for which figures are available, 7.9 per cent. of pupils in education authority primary schools received remedial education by withdrawal from their normal classes or in separate classes; the corresponding figure for education authority secondary schools was 8.3 per cent. Both figures show an upward trend over the preceding three years.
