§ Mr. Ernie Rossasked the Secretary of State for Trade if he will seek powers to impose standards directly similar to British Standards on all gas and pressure fittings imported into the United Kingdom.
§ Mrs. Sally OppenheimGas and pressure fittings are used in a very wide range of industrial plant and products. I am satisfied that existing legislation relating to the safety of such fittings provides 683W adequate powers to impose technical requirements; these can be implemented by reference to British Standards.
