§ Mr. Mark CarlisleThe University Grants Committee wrote on 14 April informing universities of my decision, which was reported to the House on 3 April by my hon. Friend the Under-Secretary of State, that the recommended increase in student union subscriptions for 1980–81 should not exceed 14 per cent.; that is over those for the 1979–80 academic year.
