§ Mr. McCrindleasked the Minister of Transport if he will seek to amend the Road Traffic Acts to require insurers to include in the certificate of insurance issued the names of drivers or categories of drivers permitted to use the vehicle covered.
§ Mr. Kenneth ClarkeRegulations made under the Road Traffic Act already require insurers to include in a certificate of insurance information as to the persons or classes of persons entitled to drive. A requirement to specify the names of such persons would lead to administrative difficulties for insurers and inconvenience and loss of flexibility in the use of their vehicles by motorists.
