§ Mr. St. John-StevasThe function of the Advisory Committee on the Purchase of Works of Art is to advise on the purchase of works of art for the Government picture collection. The committee has been giving this advice direct to the curator of the collection, but in future it will be given to both the curator and the Chancellor.
