HL Deb 12 May 1980 vol 409 c89WA
Lord HYLTON

asked Her Majesty's Government:

How much of the Northern Irish Social and Economic Programme, intended to cover the years 1975–80, but never formally adopted or published, has in fact been put into practice; what use has been made of the preparatory work done for the programme; and whether details will be published of social and economic plans for Northern Ireland for the period 1980–85 with particular mention of community relations and community development.

The PARLIAMENTARY UNDERSECRETARY of STATE, NORTHERN IRELAND OFFICE (Lord Elton)

I regret that the information requested is not available. No Government social and economic programme to cover the years 1975–80 has been published. Work on social and economic matters goes on continually within departments and aspects of this work are absorbed into departmental programmes. The Government have no plans at present to publish social and economic plans for Northern Ireland to cover the 1980–85 period.
