§ Mr. Canavanasked the Lord Privy Seal whether the Governor of Hong Kong has received any representations to bring the law on homosexuality in Hong Kong into line with that in the United Kingdom; if he is satisfied that the present law does not pose security risks for certain public employees of homosexual tendencies; and whether any changes in the law are contemplated.
§ Mr. BlakerRepresentations were received by the Governor of Hong Kong in July 1979 from the Movement for Homosexual Reform in Hong Kong and in 1980 from the Scottish Homosexual Rights Group. The possibility of a review of the law on homosexuality including any security aspects is under consideration.
