asked the Leader of the House:

What action it is proposed to take to end the present situation resulting from "industrial action" whereby delays in the production of Hansard are presenting serious difficulties in the proper conduct of the business of the House, not only to Ministers and their officials and the Printed Paper Office but to any Member who may require to study Answers to Questions or follow up suggestions put forward in debate.

The production ofHansard has recently been affected by the dispute between the National Graphical Association and the British Printing Industries Federation which has involved the contract printer concerned. HMSO are not a party to the dispute. On such occasions copies in an alternative form are provided.
