HC Deb 08 May 1980 vol 984 cc238-9W
26. Mr. Teddy Taylor

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what representations he has received from the Government of New Zealand regarding imports from that country of butter, lamb and other agricultural products; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Buchanan-Smith

In its frequent and welcome contacts with us, the Government of New Zealand have continued to seek our support for continuing access to the Community market for her exports of butter and lamb and for the maintenance of the Community's GATT obligations on sheepmeat. We are determined to see that New Zealand's interests are safeguarded.
