HC Deb 08 May 1980 vol 984 c231W
Mr. McCusker

asked the Secretary of of State for Northern Ireland whether, in the light of escalating energy costs, rising unemployment and falling living standards in Northern Ireland, he will reconsider his decision regarding a natural gas pipeline between Northern Ireland and the mainland.

Mr. Giles Shaw

The Government have made their position on this project clear on several occasions since the decision was announced last July. Nothing has occurred since then which, in the Government's view, would justify reversing that decision.
