§ Mr. Wheelerasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if, pursuant to his answer to the hon. Member of 24 May 1979, he has now had time to prepare the necessary legislation for the removal of the word " new " from the coinage as recommended in the report " Decimal Currency in the United Kingdom", Cmnd. 3164, 1966, paragraph 20.
