asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland under what circumstances an Army officer was seriously injured by an Irish Republican Army bomb in Enniskillin, County Fermanagh, on 30 April.

On Wednesday 30 April at approximately 0820 hours, the officer in question left his home in Enniskillin and got into his car which was parked outside. As he started the engine an explosion occurred.

The officer is at present in hospital recovering from his injuries and the police are continuing with their investigations.
