HC Deb 06 May 1980 vol 984 c87W
Mr. Alfred Morris

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what representations he and the Minister for Health have received with regard to the proposed closure of the rheumatology and rehabilitation wards at St. Mary's hospital in London; what replies have been made; what further action they will be taking; and if he will make a statement.

Dr. Vaughan

I have received a letter from the right hon. Gentleman, enclosing a letter from a physician responsible for the service provided in these wards. In my reply, I explained that the proposal is the subject of local consultation and that it would not be appropriate for me to comment at this stage.
