§ Mr. Meacherasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what is the lime scale for the taking of evidence for the first triennial review of the police complaints procedure under the Police Act 1976; how many submissions he has had already; and when he expects to publish his conclusions.
§ Mr. WhitelawSection 8 (6) of the Police Act 1976 requires the Police Complaints Board to keep under review the working of the relevant provisions of the Act and to make to me a report thereon at least once every three years. I received the board's first triennial review report on 18 April and I am carefully considering what it says. It is my intention to publish the report in due course.
