HC Deb 06 May 1980 vol 984 c80W
Mr. George Cunningham

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what action has been taken by his Department, in the light of the letter of 28 March addressed to the Minister of State by the hon. Member for Islington, South and Finsbury about wrong interpretation of the Housing Bill by the Peabody Trust, in the light of his responsibilities on the registration of housing associations.

Mr. Geoffrey Finsberg

I replied to the hon. Member's letter on 1 May explaining that interpretation of legislation is a matter for the courts once it has been enacted.
