§ Mr. McNamaraasked the Secretary of State for the Environment what discussions he has had about the creation of the new enterprise zones with representatives of the partnership authorities and programme authorities.
§ Mr. HeseltineOfficials of my Department have had discussions about enterprise zones with the following partnership authorities:
- Newcastle, Gateshead and Tyne and Wear
- Liverpool, and Merseyside
- Salford (a meeting with Greater Manchester Council has been arranged)
- Newham, Tower Hamlets, Hackney and the GLC
- and the following programme authorities:
- South Tyneside, Sunderland and Middlesbrough
- Sheffield
- Wolverhampton
