asked the Secretary of State for Industry if he will take steps to implement the various recommendations of the Spinks Report on Biotechnology as far as his Department is concerned; and if he will make a statement.

The recommendations of the Spinks report on biotechnology are under consideration and the Government hope to publish its response in July.
